How long should I tape my nose after surgery?

Post-surgery taping carries great importance for the fast disappearance of edemas and the nose maintaining its shape more easily (especially so you feel more comfortable during the massage phase).

🚨
First 14 Days (Critical Period)
  • At your first week check-up, your doctor removes the old tapes and puts on a new one.
  • You must absolutely not touch/remove the tapes on your nose during this initial 14-day period.
  • Furthermore, your nose must not get wet during showering within this process.
🚿
Day 14: Your Own Taping (Self-Taping)

If you can come to the 2nd-week check-up, we remove the tapes and explain to you how to do the taping (self-taping). If you are unable to come, you wash and soften the tapes yourself in the shower on the 14th day to remove them, and start the new taping as we taught/communicated to you.

🩹
Self-Taping Calendar
"First 1 Month" After the 14th Day

It is recommended that the tapes stay on your nose regularly 24 hours a day (continuously).

The Subsequent "+1 Month" More

Once this 1-month period is completed, it will be beneficial to tape for 1 more month in the evening and while sleeping at night.

💧
Tip While Removing Tapes

Do not forcefully pull your tape off the skin while removing it. By using baby oil, you can let the tape soften and come off easily without irritating your skin.

💡
Should I change tapes every day?

Continuous Taping (First 1 Month): No, there is no need to change every day. Even if they get wet during a shower, they can stay if they haven't loosened after being dried.

Evening+Night Taping (Second Month): Yes, because you only wear them at certain hours, the tapes need to be renewed every day.

💬
Social Life Note

Nasal taping is a recommendation, not an absolute obligation. If you have a special situation or the day's circumstances do not allow it (for example a day when you do not want the tape to be visible because of your social life), you may skip taping that day. You can then return to your routine by taping again when suitable.
