Following your surgery, there are some golden rules you must pay attention to for a healthy and flawless healing process:
ποΈ
Rest and Sleeping Position- Rest is recommended for the first week (7 days). You can spend your time sitting or standing up.
- When lying down, your head must be elevated at roughly 45 degrees (with double pillows).
- Avoid heavy and tiring exercises throughout your resting period.
πΏ
Showering and Water Contact- You can take a shower with assistance starting from the first day.
- Important Rule: Water must never come into contact with your nose, the tape, or cast on it.
- You can wash/have your hair washed salon-style (tilting backward).
- The tapes on the nose must be strictly protected from water contact for 14 days.
βοΈ
Traveling and Journeys- Due to pressure and bleeding risks in the first days, airplane travel is not suitable. (You can take short car trips.)
- Depending on the nature of the applied procedure, your necessary fit-to-fly document will be given from the 5th day onwards (with physician approval).
π‘ Other Important Reminders:
- Your room temperature should not be high (between 20-22 degrees is ideal).
- Drink plenty of water and apply ice for 10 minutes every hour for the first 3 days (72 hours) (you don't need to set night alarms and wake up for this, doing it while awake is sufficient).
- Meticulously protect your nose from physical forces (impacts, bumps, etc.) for the first 6 months post-surgery.
