What are the potential risks of the surgery? ⚠️

🩺
General Anesthesia and Surgical Risks

Since your surgery will be performed under general anesthesia, anesthesiology tests and evaluations will be carried out beforehand. Possible surgical risks specific to your nose will also be explained in detail during the examination. Please read the following information carefully.

🩸

Risk of Bleeding

In the first 24-48 hours post-surgery, mild oozing bleeding from the nose is an expected condition.

  • There is a gauze pad at the tip of the nose for oozing. You can remove it when you go home.
  • In the following days, there may be tiny drops that wiping with a tissue will be sufficient.
  • In extremely rare cases of excessive bleeding, intravenous medication, medicated cotton pack application inside the nose, hospital stay, or surgical intervention may be required. These procedures can incur additional costs.
🦠

Risk of Infection

Sterilization conditions are fully complied with during surgery and you are given protective antibiotics.

  • It is very important not to touch the surgical site and stitches with dirty hands.
  • If an infection occurs despite all precautions, the antibiotic duration may be extended or supplementary interventions may be required. Infections can lead to aesthetic or functional problems.

Revision (Re-operation) Risk

For any surgery, the most critical goal for the surgical team is to achieve the best outcome and minimize risks. Yet, during the healing process, problems may arise for reasons that can or cannot be controlled. A poor outcome may appear in the nose. In this case, revision surgery may be necessary. (probability ~4-5%)

  • Conditions that may cause it: Unexpected traumas, shifts due to cartilage/bone memory, thick skin issues, etc.
  • The intervention may sometimes be a brief outpatient procedure with local anesthesia or a more comprehensive one in the operating theater.
  • Pricing: No revision physician fee is charged. However, if the operating room is used, only hospital expenses (anesthesia, bed, supplies) will be requested from you.
