What are your recommendations regarding alcohol and smoking?

🚭
SMOKING
PROHIBITED
2 weeks before β€” 6 months after

Before surgery, smoking MUST be COMPLETELY stopped. (minimum 2 weeks before)

Cigarette smoke is the MOST IMPORTANT factor causing a delay in wound healing.

Delay in wound healing: causes the nose to reach a poor result both functionally and visually.

Due to delayed healing, the risk of nasal infection increases, stitches may open, increased edema and delayed healing-related complications may result in an outcome different and worse than expected.

⚠️ A patient who continues to smoke after surgery is assumed to have accepted responsibility for such problems that may occur.

🍸 Alcohol is not strictly prohibited, but it is a reason for increased edema post-surgery.

Also, it is important not to get drunk to avoid falling on your nose or similar injuries.
